Most deforestation occurs by fire
The clearing of forests all over the world has been occurring for centuries. This process, known as deforestation, means the cutting down (and normally the burning) of forests. If the current rate of deforestation continues, the world's rain forests will vanish within 100 years and we will have eliminated most of the of plant and animal species on the planet.
